What is the TheraSnore?

The TheraSnore is an oral appliance that is worn during sleep for the treatment for snoring an Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The TheraSnore is much like an athletic mouth guard, but with some of its own unique characteristics. The TheraSnore is fit in your doctor;s office in 30 minutes or less, and many people see positive results the first night. The TheraSnore appliance is 93% effective in the treatment of simple snoring and mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Simple snoring, in most cases, is caused because the amount of air going into the body is reduced. In some cases, this airflow reduction is caused when the tongue and soft palate fall back in the throat when lying down, thus blocking the airway. The body will then increase the airflow to compensate for the reduced amount of air. By increasing the airflow, the velocity of the air entering the body is increased, thereby causing some fine tissues at the base of the throat to vibrate. This increase in air velocity and the vibration of tissue, creates the snoring noise.
